Objectives of the Electrical Supply for Industrial Facilities and Cities Specialization:
The specialization aims to:
- Supply society and all types of business sectors with graduates possessing appropriate qualifications and skills according to the professional description for graduates of this department.
- The department works to provide the graduate with the necessary basic and specialized knowledge and skills in the field of specialization (electrical supply for industrial facilities and cities), in addition to the theoretical information required for a graduate with appropriate practical skills, so that they are able to study electrical diagrams for equipment and devices, electrical drive and control systems, programmable automation control (SCADA), electrical wiring works, cable laying works, study execution plans for their installation works, transmission line installation works and transformer substation equipment, their maintenance works, implement preventive maintenance programs for them and for power generation station components (from generators, circuit breakers, and excitation systems), and for electrical distribution lines, diagnose faults in industrial and engineering projects and distribution networks, estimate material quantities and verify their specifications, perform necessary calibrations for power generation station devices and equipment, monitor electrical system variables, operate it, record various readings, follow up on tower and pole installation and transmission line extension, study installation and maintenance plans for overhead distribution lines, follow up on the installation of overhead distribution networks and their accessories, follow up on the implementation procedures for cable extension and connection works, follow up on inspection works for cable faults and their repair, and exploit renewable energies.
- The department works to support and develop the student's skills, qualifying them to develop plans and prepare operational reports regarding the status of the electrical system.
