The meeting of the Council of Directors of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Units in the Faculties and Higher Institutes was held today at Latakia University, chaired by the Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Haroun, and the Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center, Dr. Aqeel Hajouz, with the participation of the heads of departments, the Director of the Ranking Office at the Center, and the directors of the units, to discuss a number of issues related to developing the quality system and raising academic and administrative performance at the university.

The meeting addressed the following axes:

Nomination for Academic Accreditation: Reviewing the status of academic programs nominated for accreditation, and discussing the requirements for completing nomination procedures and enhancing their readiness.

Faculty Plans for 2026-2027: Discussing the proposed development plans for the faculties and higher institutes, and their compatibility with quality and accreditation requirements.

Follow-up on the Implementation of 2025-2026 Plans: Reviewing what has been accomplished from the approved plans, evaluating implementation rates, and discussing the difficulties and challenges facing their completion.

Academic Reference Standards (ARS): Discussing the status of achievement in the ARS sectors, the difficulties hindering implementation, and ways to address them.

Electronic Surveys: Discussing their activation in accordance with the University Council decision, in a way that contributes to enhancing continuous evaluation and improving the quality of performance.

Documentation Guides and Forms: Following up on the updating of procedural and academic guides, and coordinating to hold a lecture to introduce the Academic Advising Guide and the Graduate Follow-up Guide.

The meeting emphasized the importance of enhancing coordination between the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center and the quality units in the faculties and higher institutes, and following up on the implementation of plans according to clear timelines, in a way that contributes to achieving the university's objectives in continuous development and raising the quality of higher education.
