Latakia University and the Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing academic and professional cooperation and strengthening the connection between university education and the requirements of the local labor market.

The memorandum was signed by the President of Latakia University, Dr. Iyad Fahsa, and the Head of the Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Anas Jawd, with areas of cooperation including support for entrepreneurship initiatives and small and medium enterprises, in addition to implementing training and qualification programs for students in commercial and industrial establishments in the governorate.

The memorandum seeks to enhance integration between the academic and applied aspects, and to provide training opportunities for students to help them acquire the experience and skills required in the labor market.

The signing ceremony was attended by the University Vice Presidents for Scientific and Research Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Haroun, and for Administrative and Student Affairs, Dr. Munther Asaad, the University Secretary, Mr. Mustafa Fawwal, the Director of International Relations, Ms. Juliette Nassar, and the member of the Latakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Hassan Andron.
