Lattakia University has maintained first place among Syrian universities according to the June 2026 updates of the AD Scientific Index 2026 ranking.

The Director of the University's Ranking Office, Dr. Ammar Abbas, explained that the ranking relies on analyzing the performance of individual researchers using H-index and citation indicators derived from Google Scholar, making it an important measure of the research productivity and scientific impact of researchers at universities.

He added that having researchers from Lattakia University among the lists of the top 10% and 30% of global researchers is a qualitative achievement, reflecting the efficiency of the university's scientific elite both locally and globally. He pointed out that excellence in research quality indicators translates the efforts of the university's researchers and supports its goal of improving its position in global rankings.
