Sumo Robot Challenge Competition for the year 2025-2026

Latakia University hosted the 11th annual ARC11 Syria Robotics Championship, held in cooperation with the Syrian Robotics Academy (Sera Robo), the Human Resources Management Foundation, and the Syrian Private University.


Approximately 150 students and coaches (38 teams) participated in the championship, representing Latakia, Al-Manara, and Homs Universities, the Syrian Private University, the National Center for the Gifted, Sera Robo, Maker Academy, MAPS Association, and Sanabel Foundation.


STEM.


The President of Latakia University, Dr. Iyad Fahsa, affirmed the university's commitment to supporting all outstanding creative endeavors and providing all necessary support for the success of scientific events that foster creativity and excellence.


The championship aims to help school and university students, as well as those interested in robotics and artificial intelligence in Syria, showcase their talents and abilities and open doors to new specializations through participation in engaging technological competitions.


The championship provided a suitable environment for exchanging expertise in the field of robotics education. Developing and enhancing educational and scientific skills, such as teamwork, creativity, excellence, and a love for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.


The team from the Faculty of Information Engineering won second place.
