**In the presence of the President of Latakia University, the Directors of Social Affairs and Education, and a representative of the Governor of Latakia, the Faculty of Education organized a series of awareness activities on the occasion of World Autism Day.**
The activities began yesterday evening with the lighting of the university administration building in blue, during a symbolic ceremony that included individuals with autism and relevant civil society organizations.
The activities continued on their second day with a sports march that started from the eastern roundabout gate of the university to the central library square, under the title: "Our Steps Are an Echo of Their World."
The activities also included the opening of an art exhibition at the Cinema Club, with the participation of a number of civil society organizations concerned with people with special needs.
The activities concluded with a central ceremony that featured an interactive program highlighting the creative abilities of individuals with autism and special needs, and supporting their integration into the university and local community.
The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ansab Shrouf, emphasized the faculty's role in instilling community values and creating a positive impact as part of its mission to raise societal awareness about people with special needs, in order to understand and accept them as an important part of the social fabric, and to provide the necessary resources for that.
During the ceremony, a number of heads of civil society organizations, their staff, and family members were honored.
