The University of Latakia and Al-Sham University sign a memorandum of understanding.

**The University of Latakia and Al-Sham University sign a memorandum of understanding to enhance academic and research cooperation between the two universities.**

The agreement was signed by Dr. Iyad Fahsah, President of the University of Latakia, and Dr. Abdul Moneim Abdul Hafez, President of Al-Sham University, with the aim of developing cooperation in the fields of scientific research, academic education, and the exchange of expertise in a number of areas, including law, economics, and medical specialties.

According to the memorandum, the two parties will cooperate in implementing joint research projects, exchanging publications, printed materials, and research journals, as well as visits by faculty members and students to activate aspects of academic and research cooperation.

The President of the University of Latakia affirmed that activating the memorandum ensures the integration of existing cooperation with Al-Sham University, especially given the large number of shared professors between the two universities.

In turn, the President of Al-Sham University emphasized the need to continue coordination between the two universities and to benefit from increased cooperation in the coming period, contributing to the development of academic and research work.

The signing was attended by the university's vice presidents for scientific affairs and scientific research affairs, Dr. Muhammad Haroun, and for administrative and student affairs, Dr. Munther Asaad; Mr. Mustafa Fawwal, University Secretary; Dr. Muhammad Halabi, Director of Al-Sham University Colleges; deans of several faculties from both universities; Ms. Juliet Nasr, Director of International Relations at the university; and Mr. Abdul Rahman Fran, Director of Public Relations at Al-Sham University.
