The Governor of Latakia, Mr. Muhammad Uthman, congratulated the university's staff and students on the anniversary of the revolution's launch. He affirmed that the next stage is one of serious work and sincere solidarity to restore our homeland's brilliance, and to build together a future worthy of the sacrifices of its people. He also pointed to the role of youth—with their knowledge, competence, and faith in their homeland—in shouldering their responsibility for reconstruction.
The President of the University, Dr. Iyad Fahsah, emphasized that rebuilding Syria—the Syria of the dream, the Syria of law, citizenship, and social justice—begins with our adherence to our principles and the building of institutions. He noted that the Syrian revolution is a long and sustainable path toward rebuilding the individual and society.
He added: "We, at Latakia University—students, administrative, academic, and research staff—continue the journey to build a generation equipped with the required skills that align with international standards and are essential for the nation's reconstruction."
The event included the screening of a documentary film showcasing the beginnings of the revolution in Latakia and across the country, the sacrifices of its people, and the journey toward freedom.
The event was attended by administrative, academic, and student staff, as well as a large number of students.
