A public defense was held for a Master's thesis at the Faculty of Informatics Engineering, University of Latakia – Department of Software and Information Systems, by researcher Maria Ahmed Shaaban, entitled "Designing a Conceptual Framework to Facilitate the Adoption of Open Source Software."

Following the discussion with the examining committee, the researcher was awarded a Master's degree with distinction and a grade of 90.
