"From Revolution to Liberation: University of Latakia Hosts Youth Empowerment Meeting"

 

"Affirming the connection of the university generation with their country’s history and enhancing their role in shaping the future, the University of Latakia today hosted a meeting at the Cinema Club entitled: 'From Revolution to Liberation'."

 

During the meeting, Brigadier Mahmoud Hamdi, commander of the 50th Division in the Syrian Arab Army, presented a vivid and engaging narratve of the Syrian revolution, culminating in the victory that marked fourteen years of steadfastness."

 

Brigadier Hamdi emphasized that the current focus is on rebuilding Syria and repairing the consequences left by the previous regime, which caused deep wounds in the country’s economy, politics, and society."

 

Brigadier General Hamdi highlighted the central role of youth in nation-building, singling out university students for their leadership in shaping the country’s future, as well as their essential role in fostering national awareness and charting the path of development through knowledge and education. He also shed light on the key milestones of the Syrian revolution and the Syrian people’s long struggle, enduring the harshest conditions with legendary patience and steadfastness."

 

The participants’ interventions focused on the importance of adopting inclusive national concepts to advance Syria, overcoming the remnants of the actions of the former regime, and consolidating a comprehensive ideology that unites Syrians around the priority of building and prospering the nation, while emphasizing the central role of university youth in this process.

 

The meeting was attended by the President of Latakia University, Dr. Eyad Fahseh, the Student Affairs Officer, Mr. Mohammad Abidin, members of the Executive Office of Latakia Governorate, and the Director of the University City, Dr. Ahmed Ali, alongside administrative and academic staff, as well as a large number of students and other interested parties.
