The Launch of the First Day of the Training Series “Global Publishing Skills: From Manuscript Development to Reputable Journals”

Under the patronage and presence of Dr. Eyad Ismail Fahsa, President of Latakia University, the first course in the training series organized by the Directorate of Studies and Scientific Research at the Faculty of Civil Engineering was launched today, entitled “Global Publishing Skills: From Manuscript Development to Reputable Journals.”

Dr. Omar Al-Khalil, Director of the Office of Studies and Scientific Research at the University, pointed out that this course represents an important step within the university’s vision to support scientific research and develop the skills of researchers and postgraduate students. It enables them to become familiar with international academic publishing standards and contribute to raising the name of the university and the nation high.

Dr. Mohsen Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, explained that the scientific goal of the course is to develop research by acquiring the tools of international publishing, which contributes to enhancing the university’s standing both locally and globally. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the required standards at each stage of the publishing process.


The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammad Haroun, Vice President of the University for Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Maryam Saei, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering; and Ms. Juliette Nassar, Director of International, Public, and Cultural Relations, along with a number of faculty members and postgraduate students.
