Latakia University held an automated online exam for the
French Language 2 course, with the participation of 105 students from the
English Translation Program.
The Vice President of the University for Open Learning
Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Akroush, stated that the exam is part of the university’s
approach toward digital transformation and keeping up with technological
advancements. He pointed out the positive aspects of the exam, such as
eliminating the burden of grading, reducing paper usage, and allowing students
to receive their results immediately.
Dr. Akroush confirmed that there is a plan to expand the
automated exam experience to include all Open Learning programs in the upcoming
exam sessions.
For her part, the Director of the Computer Center at the
university, Engineer Safaa Sabbour, explained that the technical team at the
Computer Center oversaw all stages of the electronic exams. This included
logistical and technical preparations before the start of the exam, ensuring
the technical readiness of the computers, creating individual accounts for each
student, providing technical support during the exam, and exporting the
electronic results to the relevant faculties.
